Hi Outsiders!
Today we fly overseas again to meet an actor some of you might already know from his roles in Bad Guy My Boss, Love Alert and 14 Again: I Love You Two Thousand.
Through these projects, he has had the opportunity to explore different characters and be part of stories that have reached audiences who enjoy discovering new faces and talents in the world of Thai entertainment.
In this interview, we had the chance to talk about his experience as an actor, the projects he has worked on and the journey that has brought him to where he is today. Journey that will soon lead him to this new experience to Paris for The A Festival. We also talked about his approach to acting, the experiences he has collected along the way and his hopes and dreams for the future.
With us... James Hayward Prescott!
As always, let's give him a warm welcome and start with the interview!
You were born in Singapore, but in Thailand you found another place where you could grow as an artist. They are two worlds, two cultures, and two very different languages: have you ever felt like a different person when switching from English to Thai? And, above all, has acting in a language different from the one you grew up speaking taught you how to communicate emotions beyond words?
Yes, I was born in Singapore and I grew up speaking English so sometimes i get confused with some words not remembering the translation into Thai. So, it's kinda funny that I speak this Thailish-Tinglish language! But I find it cute, it also brings the character out of me.
Before Love Alert, you played Elyes in Bad Guy My Boss. How much did your approach to your work change this time around, especially after everything you learned from playing Elyes? Was there anything you took away from that experience that stayed with you and influenced the way you approached this new project?
Well playing Elyes was a big step for me, playing someone that is not near myself. Playing this bossy, selfish. playboy character was something new to me, but he really gave me passion for acting, wanting me to go all for it with my new career.
In Love Alert, Jimmy starts out with a very clear idea of what he wants, but meeting Toh ends up completely changing his expectations. Has there ever been a time in your life or career when you set out on a path convinced you knew exactly where it would take you, only to find yourself completely surprised by the direction it ultimately took?
Before I just wanted to do something to influence people, so I started doing Tiktoks as an influencer, but then things change. I started acting which surprises me in how fun this career is, getting to express sending a message out through acting or being someone you aren't . But also letting people feel that moment with you. But now I do have thoughts on being something more than just acting, who knows I might do a lot more things to send out the love, probably being an artist soon.
And speaking of encounters...sometimes, meeting someone can profoundly change the way we look at our work and the path we are building. Is there someone you have met along your professional journey who has left you with something particularly meaningful, something you still carry with you today?
I did met a lot people in and out the industry who taught me a lot, gave me a lot of advice, but I really won't forget the first day, I know I will be doing more pairings more roles but I just wanted to say thank you to Kad for helping me since. Well actually it's really all the memories and projects we did and still doing that really pushes me, getting to watch those on bad days really puts a smile back on me.
Taking part in The A Festival in Paris will give you the opportunity to meet your European fans in a new setting and in a country you haven't experienced before. How important is it for you to maintain a direct connection with the people who follow and support your journey? And as you arrive in Paris, is there anything in particular you hope to discover - in the audience, in the city, or perhaps even in yourself - through this experience?
Just hoping everyone has a smile on their face that's really it, just everyone getting to share their moments at the festival, me getting to thank all the fans at the festival in Paris, and just inspiring each other sharing an unforgettable story.
And that's all for our interview with James Prescott!
We would like to thank James for taking the time to chat with us and for giving us the opportunity to know more about his journey, his experiences as an actor and his future projects. It was a pleasure to have him with us and discover more about the person behind the characters we see on screen!

Ciao, Outsiders!
I Love You Two Thousand.
Prima di Love Alert, hai interpretato Elyes in Bad Guy My Boss.
