On February 24th Wooseok released his first solo single, "Empty Paper". This double single marks Wooseok's first solo project since his time as a member of PENTAGON, and it showcase his personal stories and unique musical style.
"Empty Paper" consists of the title track "Navy Blue" and the b-side "Sketch", both of which were written and composed by Wooseok himself.
Wooseok debuted in 2016 as a member of the group PENTAGON under Cube Entertainment. Over the course of 7 years, he expanded his repertoire by participating in rapping, singing, acting, songwriting, and composing. After leaving Cube Entertainment, he joined Undefind Entertainment and now debuting as solo artist.
"Empty Paper" is Wooseok's first solo single since his agency transfer. It represents his ambition to start anew and draw a new picture on a blank sheet of paper. The single consists of two tracks: the title track "Navy Blue" and the b-side "Sketch".
"Navy Blue" compares Wooseok's youth, filled with struggles between dreams and reality, to different colors. The song conveys a hopeful message of positivity in the face of uncertainty, with lyrics that express, "Even though tomorrow is uncertain and dark, I remain optimistic like the blue hue before dawn." Wooseok's unique charm adds to the song's appeal.
The b-side "Sketch" further explores the album's theme of "Empty Paper". It depicts the confusion and anxiety of youth as they search for their true calling and struggle to create a complete picture of themselves.
To ensure the clear delivery of the song's message, Wooseok participated in both the songwriting and composing of "Empty Paper". He also collaborated with producers Siixk Jun and SWINGOOD to achieve the Grunge Rock sound popular in the late 80s and 90s. Siixk Jun has worked on hits such as (G)I-DLE's "Uh-Oh" and "LIAR" and PENTAGON's "With UNIVERSE", while SWINGOOD is known for his acclaimed production of Zibano's "so fed up" album, which won the Best R&B & Soul Album at the 2017 Korean Music Awards. Their contributions further enhance the quality of the album.
On the release day, February 24th, Wooseok held his first solo fan meeting "불멍 : BULMUNG" at Nodeul Island Live House in Seoul. He unveiled the new songs for the first time in front of his fans, and he will also be holding fan meetings and concerts in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan in March, connecting with his global fanbase.
"Empty Paper" is a highly anticipated release that marks a new chapter in Wooseok's musical journey. With his captivating vocals, honest lyrics, and diverse musicality, Wooseok is poised to make a strong impression as a solo artist.

Il 24 febbraio Wooseok ha pubblicato il suo primo singolo solista, "Empty Paper". Questo doppio singolo segna il primo progetto solista di Wooseok dopo essere stato membro dei PENTAGON, e mette in mostra le sue storie personali e il suo stile musicale unico.
"Empty Paper" consiste nella title track "Navy Blue" e nella b-side "Sketch", entrambe scritte e composte dallo stesso Wooseok.
Wooseok ha debuttato nel 2016 come membro del gruppo PENTAGON sotto la Cube Entertainment. Nel corso di 7 anni, ha ampliato il suo repertorio a livello di rap, canto, recitazione, scrittura e composizione.
