A very unique group who recently debuted with their single Glow.
Hyunjin, Chanyeon and Jiseok are the first deaf idol group.
Through their music, that use Korean, American and International Sign Language, they're trying to break every stereotype and prejudice against people with disabilities and, at the same time, making every person that supports them feel understood.

Let's begin from a simple question, how did your passion for music started and what does it mean to you?
Hyunjin: I used to work as a creator to break the misconceptions and prejudices about hearing disabilities.
I think challenging the idol project is also in line with my purpose at that time.
Chanyeon: I wanted to share my story through music with more people in a wider sphere and reveal myself to the world.
Jiseok: When I attended a special school, I became interested in percussion instruments through BTS RM's donation and started dancing as well. I thought RM's good deeds were impressive.
From that moment, I also wanted to become a musician who has a positive influence like him.
Talking about your group and your debut song, can you tell us more about the creative process behind it?
For our debut song, we chose a remake of H.O.T's hit song "Hope."
The reason we chose this song is because of its bright and hopeful lyrics.
The chorus, "Let’s all hold hands together and look at the sky. Let’s imagine the world we will create together in the sky," was choreographed using sign language and arranged in a tropical style to differentiate it as our own song.
Always thinking about your song, Glow, if you could describe what would you like people to feel when they listen to it with a picture, what would it look like and why?
We hope the song brings to mind a bright and clear sea filled with light. We worked on it with the hope that people would receive warmth and hope through our music.
What was the most difficult part during the preparation and the making of your debut and how did you overcome those moments?
The hardest part our training.
We practiced relentlessly, relied on each other's strengths, and used innovative methods like vibrating devices to keep time during dance practices.
Support from our agency and fans kept us motivated and determined.
If you could describe working with each other in 3 words, what would they be?
Hyunjin: Loyalty, harmony, and goals. With a mindset of working together harmoniously and striving towards our goals, while also supporting each other with loyalty, we can become an incredibly strong and solid team.
Chanyeon: Alignment, harmony, and consideration. Since each of us has different hearing abilities, thoughts, and rhythms, I believe the most harmonious way is for the three of us to consider and align with each other to appear as one.
Jiseok: Contradiction, understanding, and effort. We have different qualities, but we don't give up and keep challenging ourselves to find new qualities.
How did you feel the first time you performed in front of an audience and how do you feel when you're on stage?
Hyunjin: I was excited at the thought of showcasing our performance to many people for the first time.
While I was nervous about possibly making mistakes in the choreography, that moment was incredibly precious to me. It was a mix of overwhelming emotions and a sense of reality that is hard to put into words, making it feel like I experienced a different kind of happiness.
Chanyeon: When I first stood on stage, I had a lighthearted attitude, thinking that I just needed to show what I had learned so far. However, as time goes by and more fans come, I start to feel a bit more nervous.
I approach the stage with the mindset of showing the results of my hard work and preparation, reminding myself not to panic. When I'm on stage and in the spotlight, I truly feel like the star of the show!
Jiseok: Being seen by so many people is a completely new experience. It was a pleasantly refreshing feeling that I had never felt before. And on stage, with the fans who make us shine watching us, I feel like I'm floating on clouds.
You're making a huge impact with your song, especially with people with disabilities who can feel seen through your music, how do you feel knowing you can be such role models and examples now, and what is a wholehearted advice you would like to give to them?
Hyunjin: If you have a dream or goal you hope to achieve, I encourage you to take the leap and challenge yourself with courage.
I also hope that you gain a lot of positive energy from our music and feel inspired to believe that you can do anything. With confidence and ambition, I sincerely support you in paving your own amazing path.
Chanyeon: Although we still have a lot to improve, I think it would be wonderful if we could gain more experience and explore a wider variety of music genres through our music. As much as you support us, we will strive to show you better performances and activities in the future.
Jiseok: Being a role model for someone still feels overwhelming to me. However, if I can be of help, I will continue to do my best and show you my best efforts. I also want to say, don’t lose yourself. I want to encourage you by saying that from the moment you realize it, you will become the most special.
Last but not least, our brand question based on the name of our site, Outsider, which is being out of the ordinary and unique in the best way possible but also showing that being an outsider is a positive thing, so...what do you think really makes you outsiders in life and as artists?
We believe that our unique experiences and perspectives as individuals allow us to bring something truly special to the music industry. Embracing our differences and using them to create meaningful art makes us outsiders in the most positive sense. We hope to inspire others to see the beauty in being unique and to pursue their passions fearlessly.

Oggi torniamo con degli ospiti speciali direttamente dalla Corea del Sud.
Un gruppo davvero unico che ha debuttato recentemente con il loro singolo Glow.
Hyunjin, Chanyeon e Jiseok sono il primo gruppo di idol formato da 3 ragazzi sordi.
Attraverso la loro musica, che utilizza la lingua Coreana, Americana ed Internazionale dei segni, cercano di rompere ogni stereotipo e pregiudizio contro le persone con disabilità ed, allo stesso tempo, facendo sentire comprese tutte le persone che li seguono.
Stanno avendo un enorme impatto con il loro duro lavoro, come hanno dimostrato anche con il loro ultimo brano, Blow.

Come sempre, diamogli un caloroso benvenuto e cominciamo!
Cominciamo da una domanda semplice, com'è iniziata la vostra passione per la musica e cosa significa per voi?
Hyunjin: Ho lavorato come creator per cercare di rimuovere le idee sbagliate e i pregiudizi sulle disabilità uditive.
Credo che far parte di un progetto da idol sia una sfida e anch'esso in linea con il mio scopo in quel momento.
Chanyeon: Volevo condividere la mia storia attraverso la musica con più persone in una sfera più ampia e rivelare me stesso al mondo.
Jiseok: Quando ho frequentato una scuola speciale, mi sono interessato agli strumenti a percussione attraverso la donazione di RM dei BTS ed ho iniziato anche a ballare. Ho pensato che le buone azioni di RM fossero impressionanti.
Da quel momento, anche io ho cercato di diventare un musicista che ha un'influenza positiva come lui.
Parlando del vostro gruppo e la vostra canzone di debutto, potreste raccontarci di più sul processo creativo dietro il brano?
Per la nostra canzone d'esordio, abbiamo scelto un remake di "Hope" dei H.O.T.
Il motivo per cui abbiamo scelto questa canzone è stato per il suo testo brillante e pieno di speranza.
Il ritornello, "Teniamoci per mano e guardiamo il cielo. Immaginiamo il mondo che creeremo insieme nel cielo", è stato coreografato usando il linguaggio dei segni ed arriangiato in uno stile tropicale per differenziarlo come nostra canzone.
Pensando sempre alla vostra canzone, Glow, se poteste descrivere cosa vorreste che la gente provasse quando la ascolta con una foto, come sarebbe e perché?
Speriamo che la canzone porti alla mente un mare luminoso e limpido, pieno di luce. Ci abbiamo lavorato con la speranza che la gente ricevesse calore e speranza attraverso la nostra musica.
Qual'è stata la parte più difficile della preparazione e realizzazione del vostro debutto e come avete superato quei momenti?
La parte più difficile è stata il nostro allenamento.
Ci siamo allenati senza sosta, fatto affidamento sui nostri punti di forza, e utilizzato metodi innovativi come dei dispositivi vibranti per mantenere il tempo durante gli allenamenti di ballo.
Il supporto dalla nostra agenzia ed i nostri fans ci ha tenuti motivati e determinati.
Se poteste descrivere com'è lavorare l'uno con l'altro in 3 parole, quali sarebbero?
Hyunjin: Lealtà, armonia e obiettivi. Con una mentalità di lavorare insieme armoniosamente e cercando di raggiungere i nostri obiettivi, ma anche di sostenerci a vicenda con lealtà, possiamo diventare una squadra incredibilmente forte e solida.
Chanyeon: Allineamento, armonia e considerazione. Visto che ognuno di noi ha diverse capacità uditive, pensieri, e ritmi, credo che il modo più armonioso sia per noi tre di considerare e allinearci l'un l'altro per apparire come una sola persona.
Jiseok: Contraddizione, comprensione e sforzo. Abbiamo qualità diverse, ma non ci arrendiamo e continuiamo a sfidarci per trovare nuove qualità.
Come vi siete sentiti la prima volta in cui vi siete esibiti di fronte ad un pubblico e come vi sentite quando siete sul palco?
Hyunjin: Ero entusiasta al pernsiero di mostrare la nostra performance a molte persone per la prima volta.
Mentre ero nervoso all'idea di commettere errori nella coreografia, quel momento è stato incredibilmente prezioso per me. È stato un mix di emozioni travolgenti e un senso della realtà che è difficile da descrivere a parole, facendomi sentire come se avessi sperimentato un diverso tipo di felicità.
Chanyeon: Quando sono salito sul palco per la prima volta, avevo un atteggiamento spensierato, pensando di dover solo mostrare quello che avevo imparato finora. Tuttavia, con il passare del tempo e con l'arrivo di più fan, ho iniziato a sentirmi un po' più nervoso.
Mi approccio al palco con la mentalità di mostrare i risultati del mio duro lavoro e preparazione, ricordandomi di non farmi prendere dal panico. Quando sono sul palco e sotto i riflettori, mi sento davvero la star dello show!
Jiseok: Essere visti da così tante persone è un' esperienza completamente nuova. È stata una sensazione piacevolmente rinfrescante che non avevo mai provato prima d'ora. E sul palco, con i fan che ci fanno brillare guardandoci, mi sento come se stessi galleggiando sulle nuvole.
State avendo un impatto enorme con la vostra canzone, specialmente per persone con disabilità che si sentono comprese attraverso la vostra musica, come vi sentite sapendo di poter essere dei modelli da seguire ed un esempio ora, e qual'è un consiglio spassionato che vorreste dare loro?
Hyunjin: Se hai un sogno o un obbiettivo che speri di raggiungere, ti incoraggio a fare il salto e metterti alla prova con coraggio.
Spero anche che tu ottenga tanta energia positiva dalla nostra musica e ti senta ispirato a credere di poter fare qualsiasi cosa. Con fiducia ed ambizione, ti supporto sincertamente nel poter realizzare il tuo straordinario percorso.
Chanyeon: Anche se abbiamo ancora molto da migliorare, penso sarebbe meraviglioso poter acquisire più esperienza ed esplorare una più ampia varietà di generi musicali attraverso la nostra musica. Per quanto ci supporterai, ci sforzeremo di mostrarti migliori performance e attività in futuro.
Jiseok: Essere un modello per qualcuno mi sembra ancora travolgente. Tuttavia, se posso essere d'aiuto, continuerò a fare del mio meglio e a mostrarvi i miei sforzi. Voglio anche dire, non perdetevi. Voglio incoraggiarvi dicendo che dal momento in cui realizzerete ciò, diventerete i più speciali.
Ultima ma non per importanza, la nostra domanda di rito basata sul nome del nostro sito, Outsider, ovvero essere fuori dall'ordinario e unico nel modo migliore possibile ma anche mostrando che essere un outsider è una cosa positiva, quindi...cosa pensate vi renda outsider nella vita reale e come artisti?
Crediamo che le nostre esperienze e prospettive uniche come individui ci permettono di portare qualcosa di veramente speciale nell'industria musicale. Abbracciare le nostre differenze e usarle per creare arte significativa ci rende degli outsider nel senso più positivo. Speriamo di ispirare gli altri a vedere la bellezza nell'essere unici e a perseguire le loro passioni senza paura.
